A 3-5 time a week wine vlog. Hopefully I can help you with learning about wine while I do the same. I try to keep the cost per bottle under $25 but I do splurge every once in a while.

V. Sattui Madeira
A little background on this bottle. My wife and I took two separate vacations to Napa last year to visit her oldest brother. We both brought back different bottles of wine. My wine didn't make it more than two weeks because we were so eager to indulge in it. She brought back a bottle of Madeira from V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena California. It is a fortified wine that has 100 year old Madeira in it from V. Sattui. We do not know the vintage because it is not printed on the bottle nor are the grape varietals. I tried it for the first time in February of 2010 at the winery itself. Its appearance is dark red with hints of copper around the edge. The nose had carmel, oak, almonds, and butterscotch. The Taste was the same with carmel, oak, almonds, and butterscotch. IT also had a hint of tar on the back end and heat from the 19% alcohol. Its a good fortified wine and I would rate it at a solid 87. I don't know if I would by it again for the simple fact its a $40+ dollar bottle of wine. Also it may not be showing well because its been previously opened and can stay open for 13 months. Hope you enjoy.
