Parthenon Grill Review

Last night Alyssa and I went to Parthenon Grill in Murfreesboro.  Lyss said she had been there once for prom I think.  This was my first time going and I was excited to try it.  They had a decent menu.  I was a little disappointed in the appetizer selections.  We had the Parthenon dip to start.  It was a play on Spinach dip but was a little too tomato based for me.  It kinda left a funky after taste but the pitta chips were awesome.  The pita chips were sweet and had great texture.  The wine list was nice.  It surprising to see that they had wine ratings attached to the wine list.  Lyss had her favorite 14 Hands Cabernet.  I tried a Robert Parker rated 94 point Zinfandel.  I can't remember the name of the producer unfortunately.  However the wine was good and I was impressed with it.  We both had steak dinners from there.  Lyss had the Filet MR and was cooked perfectly.  I had the Ribeye MR and it was perfect also.  I loved the herb rub they had on there steaks.  Granted it does not fit with my theory on steak.  My theory on good steak is that the meat should be able to stand on its own without anything more than salt and pepper.  I was impressed other wise by the service and the food.  I will without a doubt try Parthenon Grill again.

Wine list- Good selection and easy to read.  Ratings was a nice touch
Menu-  Needed to be re done.  It was falling apart from use.  The downside of the menu is that it seemed all over the place.  It's a Greek steak house / restaurant.  The theme threw me off with having German dishes on it.  If your going to advertise as Greek stick with Greek.
Food-  Food was excellent.  Steak was good quality and cooked to a perfection
Overall-  It was a good experience at a new to me restaurant.  I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a good steak in Murfreesboro at a reasonable price.
